![I have opened the faulty iMac up and removed the hard drive . Getting ready to fit the SSD drive to the iMac. Parts needed was a Samsung SSD 860 1TB, 2.5” to 3.5” Adapter, OWC Temperature Control cable required instead of using fan control utility software.](/uk/im/blog/71185C66-A378-42FC-B9F0-3A3F031C33846800.jpeg)
One of our customers contacted us explaining that the iMac was running very slow and kept crashing. I diagnosed the problem to be a faulty hard drive. The best course of action was for us to replace the faulty hard drive for a super fast Solid State Hard Drive (SSD). Customer also included their Time Machine backup therefore I could install the lastest backup to the replacment Samsung SSD.
This is me fitting the SSD to the iMac. Next job is to clean the dust inside and transfer customers data from a time machine backup
